F&F executives and core team members in partnership with Broaddus & Associates served as the Program Manager for the new construction of a high rise educational building for Texas Woman’s University at their new campus location near the Texas Medical Center.
As our Executives were members of the program management team they worked closely with the client and architect to make sure all programming aspects of the clients requirements were incorporated into the design and develop the structure and organizational interaction between all team members. As the design evolved from schematic to construction documents, F&F personnel periodically conducted design review sessions to evaluate the comprehensiveness of the design, and develop a concept of cost and schedule controls. One of the challenges presented by this project was managing the constraints associated with the size of the site and its location. As program managers they worked to address issues regarding the amount of space available and required functions, adjacencies, circulation and utility requirements.
Throughout the construction process all involved worked closely with the architect and contractor to monitor, track and report the overall progress of the project to ensure that cost and scheduling controls are initiated and maintained so as to preserve the established budget and deadline goals. They also served in a consulting capacity to the owner and provide recommendations, reporting and help to expedite the decision making process and flow of information.
